In 1979, Andy Kaufman gave spark to national outrage by stepping into the character of a bullying and absurd professional wrestler. He offered a $1,000 reward to any woman who could pin him, with the additional promise that if beaten, he would shave his head bald; later adding that he would even marry the winning contestant. This caught the ire of many women looking to call his bluff. Hate mail as well as love letters poured in by those beckoning the call to wrestle Kaufman; Kaufman kept them all. This fascinating collection of letters, photographs and illustrations from his challengers are published within this beautifully strange book.
